One of the most unpleasant and irritating things to happen is a coffee spill on your attractive shirt. Especially when you are busy at work or you are on your way to a conference, school or a meeting. These type of accidents are a common occurrence and if they happen on the way, away from home, then you have no other choice but to employ certain methods or wise hacks to remove the coffee stains instantly.
Salt is the trick
Wherever you are, just lay your hands on some table salt and sprinkle it generously on the coffee stain such that the salt seeps down into the fabric. Within a minute or two, you can notice the magic unfolding before your eyes. Now take a paper napkin or your handkerchief to gently rub the stain away. This will not only reduce the visibility of the stain but it will also prevent the stain from expanding to other places on your attractive shirt.
White vinegar
Although White Vinegar is smelly, it is undoubtedly an effective cleaning agent. Prior to washing, apply small quantities of White Vinegar on a towel or a wet handkerchief and pat the stains. For stubborn and bigger stains, put three parts of Vinegar to one part of water solution and soak the stained garment. Let it remain overnight in the water solution. You can wash it after that.
Club soda
If Vinegar is not easily available, then you can use Club Soda which is equally effective to remove coffee stains. You can pour some quantity of Club Soda on to the stain and continuously rub until the stain disappears.
The all-rounder: Baking Soda
If you can lay your hands on Baking Soda, then your worries are put to bed! Take a cold, damp handkerchief or towel and wet your shirt. Sprinkle small quantities of Baking Soda all over the stains. Let is slowly seep. Gently rub using a dry cloth. Although, this will not remove the Coffee stain permanently, it will nevertheless soften the stain and makes it is easier to remove it once you reach home.
Baby Powder for Adults
Baby Powder can also be used to remove coffee stains. Simply sprinkle some Baby Powder on the stains and leave it for some time. You can then use a soft brush, paper towel or cloth to brush off the powder.
Find a stain pen
It is not a bad idea to keep stain pens handy in your office, car, home or your handbag. This can be a very good first-aid to coffee spill-prone people.
Baby wipes
Baby Wipes effectively remove coffee stains from the garment, if they are used immediately when the coffee stain is fresh and damp.
Egg yolk
You can remove coffee stains by rubbing the Egg Yolk on the stained area with a sponge or terry cloth and leaving it for a minute before washing it away with water.
Run your shirt under cold water through the back
You can push coffee stains off your shirt by running water on it from the opposite side of the stain.
Rubbing alcohol
You can also remove coffee stains by pouring some alcohol on the stain and rub it away using a damp cloth.
