Coffee Making Process
First, you need to plug the electric cord into the socket. Then you need to fill in the water reservoir and place it in back in the machine. Next, you need to add ground coffee to the filter basked after placing a paper filter in it. The default coffee strength is regular and one needs to change it if one wants a stronger flavor. The Bold option can be used to get a stronger flavored coffee. For smaller quantities, the 1-4 cups option needs to be used. All these options are available on the same button and one needs to press it and cycle through the options to select the desired one. The carafe is placed on a hot plate. As a result, once the coffee is brewed, it can be kept warm by activating it. The KEEP WARM button switches on the hot plate. Both the coffee brewer and KEEP warm are programmable options which help in creating presets on the machine.
The Coffee Quality
The coffee quality that we got in our review of the Hamilton Beach 12 cup digital coffee maker was excellent. The BOLD option will be a favorite for anyone who likes stronger coffee. For others, the regular option should suffice. The keep warm feature is useful in keeping the coffee warm for hours after it has been brewed. But the longer the coffee was left to be warmed in the carafe, we felt that the taste deteriorated.
The Coffee Maker Quality
The Hamilton Beach 12 cup Digital coffee maker that we reviewed was sturdy and really well made. It had a silver-colored faceplate with a big display unit on top of it. The Buttons felt soft and responsive to the touch. The swivel base of the machine was used in moving it without lifting it off the surface.
The swing out basket for containing the ground coffee had an easy release switch on the side of the machine. We loved this design choice as you can’t press the button by mistake if it was along with the other buttons. The warmer plate was coated with a nonstick compound which made cleaning easy.
Ease of Use
The Hamilton Beach 12 Cup digital coffee maker we used for our review was a breeze to use. The buttons and interface are easy to understand and intuitive to use. Filling the reservoir and coffee basket was easy due to the buttons to take them out. Cleaning the parts was easy as they were machine washable. You can put your carafe and filters in the dishwasher to clean them easily.
